An ongoing selection of images that explores the relationship between found objects and the South African landscape.
The work allows the subject matter to be presented in a manner that invites the viewer to see the beauty that once existed in a new light. With an element of design, the objects – which have gone beyond their intended use or being - now become the subjects and a sense of order is created from the chaos in which they are found.
The broken and dead are given new life through composition and the relationship with the surroundings.
The images show an interplay between man, animal and the South African environment. A dichotomy is created between the romantic African landscape and the harshness and crudeness of the context in which the photographs were taken.
